If you’re using Linode for your WordPress hosting, you need to adjust Duplicator Pro’s Build Processing Settings to ensure smooth backup creation. Linode’s server environment does not work well with the default File option, so you must switch to SQL for better compatibility.
Steps to Configure Duplicator Pro for Linode
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Duplicator » Settings »Backups. Then find the Thread Lock setting. Change it from File (default) to SQL.

Scroll down and click Save Settings to apply the update.
Why This Setting Is Important
Linode’s hosting configuration does not support the default File option for Thread Lock, which can cause backup build failures. Switching to SQL ensures better performance and compatibility.
Now, you’re all set! Duplicator Pro should work smoothly on your Linode-hosted WordPress site.
