In 2023, Duplicator introduced game-changing updates. Let’s dive into the highlights from this year.
Our goal at Duplicator is to simplify your website backups. That’s why we introduced the new dashboard widget at the beginning of this year.
Now, with just a single click from your WordPress dashboard, you can back up essential data.
You’ll easily see an overview of previous backups, and whether any have failed. Managing your backups has never been easier!
This year, you also started using the Duplicator advanced permissions. With this feature, you can specify which user roles can create, schedule, or manage backups based on your team’s needs.
Only the right users can access your backups, ensuring your data is always secure.
Plus, limiting the use of Duplicator can prevent any unauthorized overwriting or copying. You can boost your internal security by restricting our cloning features to trusted users.
In the past, you could always use Duplicator to create custom backups. But, we launched custom package components to make our plugin even more beginner-friendly.
Using checkboxes, select the exact data you want to include in a backup.
We also added a Media Only tab, so you can quickly download your media library.
No more struggling to build database-only, media-only, or other custom backups!
We take your data security very seriously. That’s why, in 2023, we gave you 6 new cloud storage locations.

You’ve been asking for an easier way to restore backups, and we listened! This year, Duplicator introduced a critical new feature — one-click restores.
Feel free to tweak your web design, edit code, or make other changes. If you want to roll back your site, go to the most recent backup and hit the Restore button.
With a single click, you’ll restore your entire site to normal.
If your website crashes or displays a critical error, the stress can be overwhelming. To give you reassurance, we added disaster recovery.
Before the worst happens, set an error-free backup as the disaster recovery point. Then, use the recovery link to get your site back online (even without logging into WordPress).
